This is a 16 year old single malt from The Balvenie, bottled at 47.6% in a 70cl bottle. It is finished in French oak casks that previously held Pineau des Charentes, a fortified wine made by adding Cognac eau-de-vie to unfermented grape juice.
It is the first Balvenie finish to use French oak.
The flavour is described as tangy lemon rind and grapefruit, meeting the gentle sweetness of glazed fruit and the spice of root ginger.
