The Balvenie 1931 Collection is a 12 year old Speyside single malt made with 100% home-malted barley, grown on The Mains of Balvenie Farm and partner farms. It is a limited edition created in collaboration with the artist Daniel Arsham, and it takes its name from 1931, the year linked to the distillery's floor maltings, which still operate. The whisky matured in American oak, then was finished in an ex-sherry European oak butt from Jerez. It is bottled at 47.5% in a 70cl bottle. Malt Master Kelsey McKechnie used techniques inspired by those behind some of the distillery's oldest whiskies. The nose is warm biscuit and honey with toffee, ginger and oak. The palate moves from barley-sugar sweetness to crystallised ginger, raisin and baking spice.

About Glenbotal

The idea of Glenbotal came to us naturally: as whisky lovers, we were always on the lookout for new experiences in the whisky world. That’s why we created Glenbotal and became our very own first customers. We buy unique and hard to find spirits from ballots and private collections. Then, we share them with a small circle of friends and people who can appreciate a good dram.
