The Balvenie 21 Year Old PortWood is a Scottish single malt in a 70cl bottle. It was matured first in traditional oak casks and then for an extended period in casks that previously held port.
The port casks bring ripe red fruit, vanilla and a touch of sweet spice. The nose is warm and soft, and the texture on the palate is silky.
The finish is long and harmonious, leaving lingering dried fruit and dark chocolate.
