This is a 25-year-old Speyside single malt from The Balvenie, part of its Rare Marriages range. It is made at the distillery in Dufftown and bottled at 48% in a 70cl bottle. The colour is golden-amber.
The nose brings soft autumn fruits, runny honey, crystallised ginger and raw cane sugar, with mature oak spice. On the palate, bold vanilla oak gives way to toasted marshmallow, fresh fruit terrine and cinnamon-infused apple tart. The finish is long and sweet.
