The Balvenie 25 Year Old Rare Marriages is a single malt from Dufftown in Speyside, bottled at 48% ABV in a 750ml bottle with no colouring or chill filtration. It is the first release in a series celebrating six decades of Malt Master David C. Stewart MBE.
Stewart selects the 25-year-old casks individually: American oak ex-bourbon barrels and European oak sherry casks, which are married in a traditional blending tun.
It is usually described as honeyed oak, dark chocolate, dried fruit and warm spice from the sherry casks, rounded by ex-bourbon vanilla, with a long, polished finish.
