The Balvenie 25 Year Old Rare Marriages is a single malt from the Rare Marriages collection, launched in 2021 and designed by Master Blender David Stewart.
It combines mostly American oak ex-bourbon barrels with a smaller proportion of European oak ex-Oloroso puncheons.
The nose is smooth and honeyed, with mellow oak and hints of candied orange peel. Bold vanilla oak on the palate gives way to toasted marshmallow, fresh fruit terrine and cinnamon-infused apple tart. The finish is exceptionally long, with lasting sweetness.
