The Balvenie 40 Year Old is a Speyside whisky matured for four decades in oak, mainly American ex-bourbon casks, followed by a period in sherry casks. It comes in a 70cl bottle.
The nose offers acacia honey, vanilla and a light smokiness from the wood, with peach and candied citrus. On the palate, malt sweetness mingles with sweet spice, and the aftertaste lingers with buttery caramel and toasted nuts.
