This is a 42 year old single malt from The Balvenie, called The Tale Of The Dog. It tells of a young apprentice, Dennis McBain, who learned what 'taking the dog for a walk' really meant, and the whisky is a tribute to him and his Balvenie story.
It is a smooth, honeyed and well-rounded expression. Sweet date and toffee are balanced by a touch of honey spice, followed by a lingering oak finish.
