This is an 18 year old single cask from The Balvenie, number 10 in the Balvenie Stories range under the name A Collection of Curious Casks. It was hand selected by Malt Master Kelsey McKechnie.
The whisky matured in traditional oak, then had a second maturation in French oak casks that previously held pineau, a sweet wine from the Charentes region.
It is described as having complex layers of delicate spicy sweetness, with warming amber and gentle oaky tannin.
