The Balvenie – Caribbean Cask 14 Year Old

A 14 year old single malt from The Balvenie, matured in traditional oak whisky casks and then finished in casks that previously held Caribbean rum. Malt Master David C. Stewart MBE filled American oak casks with his own blend of select West Indian rums, then replaced the rum with the 14 year old spirit once he judged them ready. The whisky pairs The Balvenie's smooth, honeyed character with toffee and a hint of fruit. The nose is rich, sweet and creamy toffee with fresh fruit. The palate is rounded, with vanilla and sweet oak, and a fruity character that develops with time. The finish is soft and lingering.
