The Balvenie Caribbean Cask 14 Year Old is a single malt from The Balvenie Distillery in Dufftown, bottled at 43% ABV. The whisky is matured for 14 years in traditional oak casks, then finished in American oak casks that the Malt Master first seasoned with his own blend of West Indian rums.
Once the wood had taken on the character of the rum, the rum was replaced with the 14-year-old whisky. The nose is rich, sweet and creamy, with toffee and fresh fruit. The palate brings rounded vanilla and sweet oak, with a fruity character that develops over time, and the finish is soft, warm and lingering.
