The Balvenie PortWood 21 Year Old is a single malt aged for 21 years and bottled at 47.6% abv in a 70cl bottle. It is non-chill filtered. The whisky is moved into port casks that have held fine port wine, and Malt Master David C. Stewart MBE checks it regularly so that the casks add just the right amount of character. It has been made since 1996.
The nose is fruity, with ripe raisin and a nutty dryness. The palate is rich and smooth, with fruit, honey and zest, leading to a long, delicate, nutty finish.
