The Balvenie PortWood 21 Year Old is a single malt Scotch whisky bottled at 47.6% in a 70cl bottle. It is non-chill filtered.
Aged Balvenie is moved into port casks that have held fine port wine. Malt Master David C. Stewart MBE checks it regularly so the port casks add just the right amount of character while keeping the whisky's own qualities. It has been produced since 1996.
The nose has ripe raisin and fruit with a nutty dryness. The palate is rich and smooth, with fruit, honey and citrus zest, and the finish is long, delicate and nutty.
