The Balvenie PortWood 21 Year Old is a Speyside single malt Scotch whisky bottled at 40% in a 75cl bottle. It is matured first in traditional whisky oak and then transferred to port casks that previously held fine port wines.
The first maturation mellows the spirit and builds character, while the second adds refinement and complexity.
The nose is perfumed with fruity, ripe raisin notes and a nutty dryness. The palate is creamy and silky, with fruit, honey and spice. The finish is long, gentle and nutty.
