The Balvenie Single Barrel 12 Year Old is a Speyside single malt from The Balvenie Distillery in Dufftown, bottled at 47.8% ABV in a 75cl bottle. It is non-chill-filtered.
The whisky spends its full 12 years in first-fill ex-bourbon American oak barrels. Each bottle comes from a single cask hand-selected by the Malt Master, and every bottle is individually numbered, with no more than 300 from any one barrel.
The palate is honeyed and creamy, with vanilla custard, ripe orchard fruit and toasted oak, plus honey and cinnamon warmth. It is full-bodied, and the finish is long and gently spiced. A drop of water brings out apricot and fresh malt.
