The Balvenie Stories 12 Year Old The Sweet Toast of American Oak is the first release in the Balvenie Stories series. It marks Ian McDonald's 50th anniversary at the Balvenie distillery and the way he passes his knowledge on to apprentices there.
The single malt was matured for 12 years in double-toasted virgin oak casks from Kentucky and is bottled at 43% in a 70cl bottle. It is gold in colour, with a sweet, fruity nose of oak, vanilla and a little cinnamon. The palate offers oranges, caramel, vanilla and a little oak, and the finish is long and fresh with citrus notes.
