This is The Balvenie Tun 1401, Batch 5, a Speyside single malt bottled by the distillery at 50.1% abv in a 70cl bottle. The release is limited to 2862 bottles.
It is a marriage of whiskies from the distillery's Warehouse 24, drawn from seven traditional whisky casks and two sherry butts whose ages span a number of decades. All were hand-selected by Malt Master David Stewart.
The whisky then rested for several months in Tun 1401, The Balvenie's traditional oak marrying vessel.
