The Balvenie Week of Peat is a 14 year old single malt from the Balvenie distillery in Dufftown, Speyside, bottled at 48.3% ABV in a 70cl bottle. It is non-chill-filtered.
Unusually for Speyside, it is made from 100% heavily peated malted barley, reviving the old practice of drying malt over Highland peat. Honeyed sweetness and fruit meet a gentle, earthy smoke.
Golden straw in colour, it has peat smoke, floral honey, vanilla and green orchard fruit on the nose. The palate is smooth and velvety with soft smoke, citrus zest, butterscotch and spicy oak, finishing long, warming and delicately sweet and smoky.
