Dead Centre No. 2 is a five-year-old Irish single malt from Lough Ree Distillery, released in an edition of 315 bottles. It comes in a 70cl bottle at 46% ABV.
The whiskey was matured in a combination of bourbon and stout casks, an unusual pairing, and the stout influence runs through the palate.
The nose offers malt, vanilla, roasted grains, light chocolate and a little coffee. On the palate it is full and creamy, with caramel, biscuit, cocoa and a soft bitterness. The finish is medium to long, slightly dry and spicy, balanced between sweet and bitter.
