CRN57 25 Year Old is a blended malt Scotch whisky from The Cairn, a Highland distillery founded by the independent bottlers Gordon & MacPhail. The distillery only opened in 2022 and its own malts are still maturing, so the CRN57 range blends existing malts to show the house style it is aiming for. This one is bottled at 43% in a 70cl bottle.
The nose offers rum-soaked raisins, soft brown sugar, ripe fig, maple syrup and a touch of liquorice. Raspberry and pistachio run through the palate, with crisp apple and tangy orange peel. The finish is smooth and long, with milk chocolate and well-integrated oak.
