The Dalmore 12 Year Old Sherry Cask Select is a Highland single malt from the distillery at Alness, bottled at 43% ABV in a 75cl bottle. It belongs to the Principal Collection, launched in October 2020.
The whisky spends 10 years in American white oak ex-bourbon casks, then up to three years in bespoke sherry casks made by three Andalucian cask makers and seasoned with aged Oloroso and Pedro Ximénez. Master Distiller Richard Paterson selected them.
The nose is caramelised orange, ginger and sultanas with honey. The palate brings dark chocolate, crushed almonds and a dusting of cinnamon, and the finish is sweet mango, panna cotta and lemon sponge cake.
