This is a 14-year-old Highland single malt from The Dalmore, bottled at 48% in a 750ml bottle. It matures first in American white oak ex-bourbon barrels.
A finish of two to four years in Pedro Ximénez sherry casks from González Byass follows. It is the first Dalmore finished exclusively in Pedro Ximénez casks, which brings a sweeter, darker fruit character than the distillery's usual oloroso sherry wood.
The nose offers honey, dried dates and Seville orange zest with dark berry compote. On the palate come sticky figs, maple syrup, roasted coffee and cocoa, and the finish carries mocha, nutmeg and orange peel bitterness.
