The Dalmore 15 Years is a Highland single malt from the distillery at Alness, whose stag emblem recalls the crest of the Mackenzie family. It comes in a 70cl bottle.
The whisky spends its first 12 years in American white oak. For the last three it moves into three former sherry casks: Amoroso, Apostoles and Matusalem.
The nose is fresh, with sherry, orange chocolate and fruit cake. The palate is medium-bodied and syrupy, with winter spices, chocolate, ginger and aniseed. The finish is medium and smoky, with malt and espresso coffee.
