The Dalmore 17 Year Old is a Highland single malt Scotch whisky from Alness, bottled at 42% ABV in a 750ml bottle. It was matured first in American white oak ex-bourbon barrels, then finished in three sherry casks from González Byass in Jerez: Amoroso, Apostoles and Matusalem Oloroso.
The distillery's whisky makers say Apostoles brings structure and savoury depth, Amoroso balances savoury and sweet, and Matusalem Oloroso adds weight, roundness and lingering sweetness. The bottle carries the 12-point Royal Stag emblem.
Seville orange, orchard fruit and wood spice lead the nose. The palate offers poached pears, forest berries, toffee and orange marmalade, and the long, warming finish brings dark chocolate orange, dried fruit, cinnamon and nutmeg.
