The Dalmore – 21 Year Old Scotch Whisky (75cl, 43.8%)

The Dalmore 21 Year Old is a Highland single malt from the distillery at Alness on the Cromarty Firth, bottled at 43.8% ABV in a 750ml bottle. It is released as an annual limited edition. The whisky is matured first in American white oak ex-bourbon casks, then finished for up to 36 months in hand-selected first-fill Matusalem Oloroso sherry casks. These casks are 30 years old and come from González Byass in Jerez. The distillery's notes describe bitter dark chocolate, overripe Seville oranges, Colombian coffee and toffee apple on the nose. The palate brings liquorice stick, Black Forest fruits, roasted walnuts and thick marzipan. The finish carries ginseng, pear tarte tatin and Sanguinello blood oranges.
