This is The Dalmore 30 Years Old, a single malt bottled at 43.8% ABV. It is released annually in small quantities, and each bottling differs a little from the last.
What runs through every release is the pairing of stocks aged in American oak Bourbon barrels with casks from Graham's Port.
The nose has warm forest fruits, plums, sugared almonds and ginger cake. On the palate are dark chocolate, cherries, Colombian coffee and hints of Sanguinello blood orange. The finish is long on soft wood spices, dark berry fruits, marzipan, liquorice and freshly baked brioche.
