The Dalmore 45 Year Old is the 2024 edition of an annual release, bottled at 40% ABV. It is an assemblage of some of the distillery's oldest casks.
The whisky begins in bourbon barrels, moves to Cabernet Sauvignon barriques, returns to bourbon barrels and is then finished in 20 year old Tawny Port pipes. It is joined with stocks finished in Port Colheita pipes.
Tasting notes give freshly roasted coffee on the nose, then succulent figs, coffee apple and ripe banana on the palate. The finish brings English marmalade, Manuka honey and hints of cranberry.
