The Dalmore King Alexander III is a Highland single malt made at The Dalmore Distillery under Master Distiller Richard Paterson. It is made from 100% malted barley and bottled at 40% ABV.
It is finished in six types of cask: French wine barriques, Madeira drums, Sherry butts, Marsala barrels, Port pipes and ex-bourbon casks. The expression honours the legend of King Alexander III, whose royal stag's head, granted to the Mackenzie clan, appears on the Dalmore emblem.
The nose has red berries, dark chocolate and orange zest with coffee and cinnamon. The palate is silky and full-bodied, with stewed plums, vanilla cream and almonds. The finish is long, with cocoa, dried fruit and gentle sherry richness.
