This is a 16-year-old Highland single malt from The Dalmore, bottled at 48.6%. It is the 2024 release in the Luminary series, a collaboration with V&A Dundee. Master Whisky Maker Gregg Glass created it with architect Melodie Leung of Zaha Hadid Architects. Only 20,000 bottles were made.
The whisky matured for 16 years in ex-bourbon American white oak, then was finished in Graham's tawny port pipes and Apostoles sherry casks, with a touch of rare peated Dalmore. It is natural colour and non-chill filtered.
The nose is Manuka honey, crème brûlée and antique leather. Ripe figs, Seville oranges and passion fruit lead the palate. The finish brings roasted chestnuts, dark cacao and a whisper of herbal wood smoke.
