The Deacon Blended Scotch Whisky

The Deacon is a blended Scotch whisky, a combination of malt and grain whiskies, aimed at easy, approachable drinking. Its story comes from William Brodie (1741-1788), an Edinburgh cabinet maker and town deacon who led a double life as a burglar by night. He was caught and hanged in Edinburgh, and is widely believed to have inspired Robert Louis Stevenson's Strange Case of Dr Jekyll and Mr Hyde. The brand draws on that contrast between a respectable surface and a rebellious side.
