The Edge Bunnahabhain (Staoisha) 12 Year Old 2013 (20cl, 54.2%)

A peated Islay single malt from Bunnahabhain, sold under the Staoisha name. It was distilled in 2013, is 12 years old and is bottled at a natural cask strength of 54.2% in a 20cl bottle. It matured first in an Oloroso butt and was then finished in an Oloroso firkin. The nose offers fresh bonfire smoke and smoked bacon over dark dried fruit, with figs, raisins, blackberry, roasted hazelnuts, tobacco leaf and a hint of eucalyptus. The palate is oily and smoky, with dates, cinnamon, dark honey and a little chocolate. The finish is long and warm, with smoke, dried fruit and dry oak.
