The Famous Grouse is a blended Scotch whisky, in a 70cl bottle. Matthew Gloag founded the brand in 1896 in Perthshire, Scotland, with the aim of making the best quality blended whisky.
It was first launched in 1897 as The Grouse, and was drunk by the nobility after a day's shooting. As its popularity grew, the name changed to The Famous Grouse in 1905.
