The Glen Grant 65 Year Old is a Speyside single malt and the first release in the Splendours Collection. It was distilled in 1958 and matured in a single French oak butt in Warehouse No. 4, the distillery's oldest stone dunnage warehouse. It is bottled at a cask strength of 55.5%.
Just 151 decanters were made. Artist John Galvin and Glasstorm designed the decanter as a Mobius strip seed pod, a reference to the life cycle of the Himalayan Blue Poppy.
The colour is a deep mahogany. The nose is sweet with treacle, ripe blackberry and a little sandalwood, while the palate brings orange, black cherry, fruit cake and sticky dates. The finish runs through citrus, light spice and oak, with a delicate hint of smoke.
