The GlenAllachie 12 Year Old is a Speyside single malt and the flagship of the distillery's range. It was launched in 2018, after Billy Walker and his partners acquired the distillery in 2017.
It is matured in Pedro Ximenez sherry, Oloroso sherry and virgin oak casks, with re-racking along the way. The whisky is bottled at 46% in a 70cl bottle, without added colouring or chill filtration.
The nose brings dark chocolate, treacle and heather honey with cinnamon, espresso and sticky raisins. The palate is full bodied, with marzipan, orchard fruit, mocha, butterscotch, orange zest and nutmeg. The finish is long, with dark roasted coffee, stewed apples and cocoa.
