The GlenAllachie 13 Year Madeira Wood Finish is a Speyside single malt from Batch 3 of the distillery's Wood Finish range. The whisky spent over eleven years in American oak barrels before moving into Madeira barriques that had previously held wine made from Malvasia grapes.
It is bottled at 48%, non-chill filtered and with no added colouring.
The nose brings vanilla, apricot, plantain and almond, with peach, pineapple and a touch of marzipan. On the palate there is treacle, juicy apricot and peach, grapefruit and tangy spice. The finish is long and warming, with tropical fruit sweetness, almond and soft oak.
