The GlenDronach 12 Years is a single malt matured entirely in ex-Oloroso and Pedro Ximenez sherry casks from Jerez de la Frontera. It comes in a 70cl bottle.
The distillery stands near Huntly, in the easternmost part of the Highlands, and was founded in 1826, which makes it one of the oldest in the area. It is known for maturing its whisky in sherry casks.
The nose offers vanilla, caramelised pear and a little ginger. The palate is soft and broad, with raisins, coffee and berries. The finish is persistent, with caramel and toasted hazelnuts.
