The GlenDronach 18 Year is a Highland single malt matured for eighteen years in Oloroso sherry casks from Andalucía, Spain. It is bottled at 46% ABV in a 70cl bottle, and the colour is natural.
GlenDronach was founded in 1826 in the Valley of Forgue, and this is a rich, sherry-led style. The colour is antique bronze with an amber hue.
The nose offers fudge, dark muscovado sugar, fruit compote and Morello cherry. The palate is full-bodied, with stewed fruit, allspice, aged Oloroso, toasted walnut bread and chocolate orange. The finish is long, with dark treacle, warming spice, walnut and dried fruit.
