The Glenlivet 14 Year Old Cognac Cask Finish is a Speyside single malt bottled at 40% ABV in a 750ml bottle. It was matured in bourbon and sherry casks, then finished for at least six months in ex-cognac casks. Every whisky in the bottle is at least fourteen years old.
The cognac finish honours Captain Bill Smith Grant, great-grandson of the founder George Smith, and was launched in the United States.
The brand's notes describe honey and apricot jam on the nose, with sweet cinnamon bread and light liquorice spice. The palate brings mandarins in syrup, ripe poached pears and chocolate-dipped raisins, and the finish is smooth and luscious.
