The Glenlivet – 15 Year Old French Oak Reserve (75cl, 40%)

This is a 15-year-old Speyside single malt from The Glenlivet, bottled at 40% ABV in a 75cl bottle. Part of the whisky was finished in French Limousin oak from the Dordogne, the same wood used for Cognac casks. It is then married with traditionally matured Glenlivet. The open-grained oak is described as adding almond and spice. The nose is creamy, rich and buttery. On the palate come sweet fruits, delicate spice and nuts, and the finish is long with sweet almond and spice.
