The Glenlivet 18 Year Old is a single malt Scotch whisky in a 70cl bottle, bottled at 40% ABV. Master Distiller Alan Winchester takes it through 18 years in a combination of casks: first and second-fill American oak, which gives tropical fruitiness, and ex-sherry oak, which adds spicy complexity.
The result is described as complex yet elegant and balanced.
The nose is rich fruit and toffee. The palate is balanced, with bursts of sweet orange, and the finish is long, with raisins and spice.
