A 21-year-old single malt from The Glenlivet, taken from batch 0923 of the Sample Room Collection, a new range. The cellar master selects each cask that goes into the whisky.
The vatted malt then continues to mature in three kinds of first-fill cask: vintage colheita port, oloroso sherry and cognac, used in carefully judged proportions.
It is described as fruity in the Speyside manner, deep from patient ageing in the temperate warehouses of Scotland, and spiced by a precise finish.
