The Glenlivet 21 Year Old is a Speyside single malt from the Sample Room Collection, bottled at 43% without added colour in a 70cl bottle.
After maturation the whisky is finished in three kinds of cask: first-fill Oloroso sherry, Tronçais oak cognac and vintage Colheita port. The finishes add spice to the soft, fruity house style of The Glenlivet, with nutmeg and cinnamon linked to the cognac casks.
The nose brings caramelised pear, juicy peach, cinnamon and nutmeg. On the palate come dried apricot, sultanas and chocolate-covered ginger, with dark berries. The finish is long and soft, with warming spice and oak tannins.
