This is a 25 year old Glenlivet, distilled in 1952 and bottled in 1977 as an edition for the Queen's Silver Jubilee. The colour is dark amber.
The nose is full of roasted nuts, especially pecans, with fruitcake, dried figs and a smokiness, followed by balsamic, parsley, chives, dill, pine resin, wax polish and old walnut liqueur.
The palate is thick, creamy and concentrated, with old walnuts, roasted coffee beans, flambeed bananas, pepper and plenty of cinnamon. The finish is rather long, dry and balanced.
