The Glenlivet Carmaferg is the third Single Cask Edition made for the Dutch market. It is named after a hill east of the Livet valley, once a lookout for smugglers trying to avoid the customs men.
The whisky matured for eighteen years in a single bourbon barrel and was bottled in February 2017 at a cask strength of 54.2%, giving 228 bottles.
The nose offers orchard fruit, creamy vanilla, poached pear, sweet honey, hints of citrus and almonds, and floral touches. The palate is fruity and delicately sweet, with pear, glazed peach, sweet orange, vanilla and creamy toffee. The finish is long, smooth and gently sweet.
