This is a Speyside single malt from Glenlivet, the distillery founded by George Smith in 1824. It is bottled at 40% ABV in a 1 litre bottle.
The Distiller's Reserve is matured in three kinds of cask: ex-bourbon casks, sherry casks and traditional oak casks.
The nose offers ripe pears with a hint of soft caramel. On the palate the fruit carries on alongside the bittersweet edge of orange marmalade and some dry touches. The finish is soft and long, with marzipan and roasted hazelnuts.
