The Glenlivet 21 Year Old Triple Cask is a Speyside single malt from the distillery's Sample Room Collection, bottled at 43% ABV in a 750ml bottle. It is a limited edition.
The Sample Room is where The Glenlivet develops cask ideas before release. Here the 21-year-old whisky is finished in three first-fill casks in turn: Oloroso sherry, Tronçais oak cognac and vintage Colheita port.
On the nose there are caramelised pears and juicy peaches, with cinnamon and nutmeg. The palate is fruity and spicy, with dried apricots, sultanas and chocolate-coated ginger, and the finish is long and rich with warming spice.
