A 12-year-old Speyside single malt from The Glenrothes, aged solely in sherry-seasoned casks and bottled at 40% in a 75cl bottle. It belongs to the Soleo Collection, named after the sun-drying of grapes in Jerez for sherry production.
The nose offers gingerbread, stewed apple and earthy vanilla, with soft tropical fruit and a hint of sherried funk. The palate is creamy hazelnut, dried fruit and cinnamon, with chocolate, old leather, dried herbs, tobacco, Galia melon and honeyed oak. The finish is long and sweet, with baking spice and more stewed fruit.
