The Glenrothes 15 Year Old is a Speyside single malt in a 700ml bottle. It is matured in European oak sherry-seasoned casks, which add boldness to the delicate new make spirit. The Master Whisky Maker aims to balance the two, and the result is a bright, sweetly spiced whisky.
At this age the ripe fruit notes are described as more refined and fragrant.
On the nose there is dark brown sugar, baked orchard fruit and spice, with hazelnut praline, candied orange peel, toasted oak and worn leather. The palate offers caramelised pear, dark chocolate, cinnamon, clove and cardamom, finishing sweet and silky with lingering spice.
