The Glenturret – 7 Year Old Peat Smoked (70cl, 46%)

The Glenturret 7 Year Old Peat Smoked is a Highland single malt from the Perthshire distillery, in a 70cl bottle at 46% ABV. It is the first release in the distillery's core range of peated malts, and it is non-chill filtered with no added colour. The whisky is matured in sherry-seasoned American oak barrels, European oak and refill casks. The American oak adds creamy vanilla and citrus, the European oak adds depth and sweetness, and the refill casks let the peated spirit come through more directly. The nose combines peat smoke with marmalade, vanilla and spiced fruit. On the palate come vanilla fudge, orchard fruit, roasted nuts and more smoke, and the earthy peat lingers in the finish.
