The Hakushu 12 Years is a Japanese single malt whisky in a 70cl bottle. The distillery stands at an altitude of 700 metres, where the climate slows maturation and reduces the influence of the wood on the spirit. Part of the malt is imported from Scotland.
It is a vatting of unpeated malt aged in ex-bourbon casks, unpeated malt aged in ex-sherry casks and peated malt aged in ex-bourbon casks.
The nose is floral, with vanilla and honey. The palate is sweet and delicate, with honey and vanilla and a light smokiness. The finish is of medium length, with a hint of smoke.
